The PumpHouse Theatre’s Creative Talks series aims to bring the community together with creatives to discover more about their process and what inspires them.  Each event explores what goes on behind the scenes to create their unique art. There is something for everyone interested in the arts and what inspires and drives creativity.
This year, we have split the talks into two seasons – three in Autumn and four in Spring.

The event is free, and tea and coffee are provided.

Autumn Season - David Verran
Writer, Historian and Curator.
David has written several articles relating to New Zealand history over the years. Since 1993, he has conducted regular tours of Symonds Street Cemeteries and, from the 1990s, has given public talks, especially on aspects of North Shore history.

David volunteers at both Devonport and Birkenhead Museums, as well as at Auckland Council Archives, and manages the website for the Friends of Symonds Street Cemetery.  Since 2011 he has written a monthly local history column for the local ‘Channel’ magazine.

David joins us in talking about the hidden treasure of the Devonport Museum and his life as a historian.
