Nau mai, haere mai! Join us to plant natives along this Waikūmete Stream tributary in Glen Eden, and be part of a transformation that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
The plants we put into the ground will stabilise the stream banks and reduce erosion, help filter pollutants before they reach the awa and flow to the sea, and provide shelter and safety for native birds, fish and critters. No experience required.
Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, boots or gumboots and clothing suitable for gardening in, and bring your gardening gloves if you have any (some will be provided). We will provide the tools required. Kids welcome but must be accompanied by a supervising adult. We'll celebrate with a BBQ to finish.
