Auckland Heritage Festival 2025

This year’s theme, Auckland at Play, highlights the role sport and recreation plays in shaping our communities – from grassroots clubs to major events. As we mark the 75th anniversary of the 1950 Empire Games, we reflect on a time when Tāmaki Makaurau hosted the world and stood proudly on the international stage.

With more than 100 free or low cost events on offer (including family-friendly activities for the school holidays), there’s something for everyone.
