Feedback from the community helped the Albert-Eden Local Board and Auckland Council staff in focusing on priorities that mattered to people in the local board area.

Priorities such as building resilient communities, a sustainable environment and places that meet a wide range of uses are now central to the draft Local Board Plan for 2020-2023.

“We’ve met lots of locals this year and I thank you for all your input so far. Now we want to hear from even more people,” say Albert-Eden Local Board Chair Margi Watson.

The local board has always supported community well-being and that’s now even more crucial post COVID-19.

Our goals around valuing our diversity, protecting heritage and the environment, preparing for climate change, boosting our local economy and providing easy options for people to enjoy everything our area has to offer, will benefit many on a daily basis.

“We’ve listened to the community from the start of our planning to ensure we choose the best outcomes. A key focus has been working with those who we hear from the least, including youth, children and minority groups.

We appreciate the support of local volunteer groups and key community stakeholders who have helped us shape our plan so far. Now it’s you turn to help us make it even more about your neighourhood and what you want your future to look like,” Margi says.

This is a great opportunity for Albert-Eden locals to have their voice heard through submitting their feedback to the local board’s plan, which sets the board’s priorities for the next three years.
