Auckland Council does not provide free traps directly to the public, instead we provide funding and support to community conservation organisations across Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland who have the skills and resources to support you with your trapping needs.

Conservation groups across our region are working hard to protect our native habitats, plants and animals. For support to make a difference in your backyard and your local area - find a conservation group near you.

Search the Auckland Conservation Directory

Search the ‘yellow pages’ of our region’s groups and organisations engaged in conservation across Tāmaki Makaurau in the Auckland Conservation Directory on Tiaki Tāmaki Makaurau / Conservation Auckland.

Tip: use the location drop down box to find groups near you.

Find out what’s happening in your neighbourhood

Check out the website's Conservation Map to see what activity is taking place in your neighbourhood, and who to connect with, to get support or lend a hand.

Tip: tick the box next to the ‘Local initiative or group’ and the ‘Landscape initiative or group’ layers in the legend. Click on the shapes that appear on the map to find out more.
