The book is a collection of stories about the experiences of local soldiers and their families during the Great War.
Great War had significant effect on Manurewa
Manurewa Local Board Chair Angela Dalton says the war was a very real backdrop to life for Manurewa residents, regardless of their distance from the front lines.
“This book is a fine way to commemorate the contribution of Manurewa’s soldiers and their families,” she says.
“It’s an insightful look at a Manurewa that is very different from the one we know today. Much credit goes to editor Bruce Ringer, the RSA and of course our fallen soldiers and their families for sharing these stories.”
