Auckland Council, in partnership with Downer and Beca, is creating the Akl Paths site to help people discover new neighbourhood walking and cycling routes.

Akl Paths is just getting started and your help is needed to make it bigger and better! Be one of the first to test it out, send in your feedback, and be in to win a $500 Rebel Sport voucher (entries close on Monday 2 April).

The page is designed for Aucklanders of all ages who want to get out and experience the city. Whether walking the dog in a new setting, taking the kids for a weekend bike ride to a sports field, or finding an alternative route for your run, Akl Paths aims to make exploring easier.

There are currently 30 paths on the site. The goal is to keep adding paths until there are routes and experiences to suit everyone, all over the region.

How to use AKL Paths

Select the type of path (either walking or cycling) you want to discover and the features and activities you are interested in, and Akl Paths will show paths that suit you. You’ll get a detailed map and a description that includes the level of difficulty, accessibility information, fun destinations along the way, and even the path’s average step count.

Then let us know what you think. Are there features and activities you think should be included? Could there be more useful information provided that would make your experience better?

Akl Paths needs to be designed with Aucklanders in mind, and this testing phase will help make it work for you. The five-minute survey is here – once you’ve completed it, you’ll automatically be in the draw to win $500 to spend at Rebel Sports.
