As part of Auckland Councils 10-year Budget process, Ōrākei Local Board is advocating to provide and partially fund a new walking and cycle linkage.

The proposed path will run from Gowing Drive in Meadowbank to the Glen Innes to Tamaki Drive Shared Path and across to Kohimarama / Mission Bay.

It is estimated that the creation of the linkage will ease local traffic congestion and provide more than 300 students with an easier and safer alternative route to and from school each day.

Ōrākei Local Board is fully committed to making our communities a great place to live and work,” says board chair Colin Davis. “We strongly encourage all our residents to get involved and share feedback on the planned local initiatives.”
