About Aoraki

  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Cross
  • Female
  • 2 years and 8 months
  • Can live with other dogs
  • Pukekohe Adoption and Education Centre

Personality:

Aoraki is really something special. She really wants to love and be loved but has clearly not had the best start to life. She was initially a little nervous but she has now come out of her shell. She loves people and other dogs and would love to live with another pooch. She has a  playful personality, LOVES butt scratches and pulls the most adorable face when you hit the right spot!

Tamariki – 10+ as she needs to build trust and confidence through calm interactions and consistency.
Cats – No cats, will chase.

Kūri – She is social and wants to be in other dogs space so controlled intros needed but she just wants to play and settles well.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 28.5kgs and is fully grown.

Ideal home:

Aoraki is a fun loving pup that needs a kind, caring whānau that will spend time to continue her training (can still jump on occasion but she is coming along so well!). She loves car rides and getting out and about so an active home would be preferred. In return, she will shower you with all the love and affection she has and delight you with her goofy personality!

Ready to meet or adopt?

If Aoraki sounds like the perfect fit for your home, we’d love to hear from you. Just contact the Pukekohe team to arrange to meet. To apply, simply email the Pukekohe team with the dog’s name and a completed application form (PDF 855kb)

Things you need to know:

  • All members of the family  - including dogs -  are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
  • A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
  • We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
  • If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
