About Artax

  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Cross
  • Male
  • Good with children
  • 3 months
  • Can live with other dogs
  • Can live with cats
  • Pukekohe Adoption and Education Centre

Personality:

Artax is a sweet, gentle boy who likes to take his time when exploring new places. He can be a little shy and unsure at first, preferring to quietly observe and inspect his surroundings before deciding everything is safe. Once he finds his confidence, though, his goofy, playful personality starts to shine. He's full of fun, enjoys a good adventure, and has a lovable charm that's hard to resist.

We believe Artax is deaf so will be learning hand signals as part of his training in shelter.

When the excitement winds down, Artax is more than happy to swap exploring for cuddles. A sunny spot for an afternoon nap or curling up beside his favourite people is high on his list of favourite things.

Tamariki – 10+ as he needs to build confidence.
Cats – Ok with cats provided proper intros and supervision.

Kūri – Friendly. Ongoing socialisation needed.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 10.1kgs. Likely to mature large in size.

Ideal home:

Artax is looking for an active home that will continue building his confidence through positive experiences, ongoing training, and plenty of socialisation. With patient people by his side and lots of encouragement, this handsome boy will continue blossoming into a confident companion who is ready to join in on all of life's adventures.
