- Pukekohe Adoption and Education Centre
Personality:
Beans came into the shelter scared and shut down, with very little life experience and no idea that the world could be a good place. The team saw her potential and transferred her to Pukekohe Adoption Centre, where she has now had almost two weeks of exposure, confidence building and training. In that time, she has slowly started to come out of her shell, learning that perhaps the world is not such a scary place after all.
For now, Beans is a quieter soul who is perfectly happy curled up in a comfy bed watching the world go by. As her confidence grows, we expect her playful and curious side to grow with it. She tries her hardest, wants to please and is incredibly sweet once she feels safe.
Tamariki – 10+ as she needs consistent and positive experiences.
Cats – Cats ok with proper supervision and training.
Kūri – Friendly. Further socialisation needed.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently3.4kgs. Likely to mature medium - large in size.
Ideal home:
Beans will need an experienced, confident home with older children who are ready to help her keep finding her feet. Her new family will need to prioritise ongoing training, socialisation, confidence building and gentle exposure to the big wide world. She does not need someone to hide her away or wrap her in cotton wool. She needs someone who will patiently open doors for her, celebrate the little wins and show her that new places, new people and new experiences can be exciting rather than scary. With the right person beside her, we think this quiet little girl could surprise you with just how much she has to give.
Maybe you could be the person who helps Beans discover her brave side?
