About Dassie

  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Cross
  • Female
  • Good with children
  • 3 months
  • Can live with other dogs
  • Can live with cats
  • Pukekohe Adoption and Education Centre

Personality:

Dassie is a stunning, intelligent and social young girl. She is confident, loves to explore and carries her toy around to proudly show it off. She dreams of a home that will take her on beach adventures, long walks daily and will include her in everything they do.

Tamariki – 10+ as she is puppy mouthy and learning her manners.
Cats – Seems uninterested in the shelter cats.

Kūri – Friendly and keen to meet. Further socialisation needed due to age.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 4.1kgs. Likely to mature medium to large.

Ideal home:

As with any puppy her age, she will benefit greatly from puppy school and ongoing socialisation. Dassie is very intelligent and would love to learn tricks and have enrichment and exercise to keep her busy. In turn, you will be rewarded with those soulful dark eyes and all the love she has to give.

If you are ready to be her whole world, she is ready to be yours!

Ready to meet or adopt?

If Dassie sounds like the perfect fit for your home, we’d love to hear from you. Just contact the Pukekohe team to arrange to meet. To apply, simply email the Pukekohe team with the dog’s name and a completed application form (PDF 855kb)

The adoption fee is $450, which includes:

  • Vet check
  • First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
  • Microchipping
  • De-sexing
  • Registration
  • Bath
  • Flea and worm treatment
  • 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur

Things you need to know:

  • All members of the family  - including dogs -  are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
  • A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
  • We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
  • If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
