Personality:
Lychee is an adorable little man who is only just beginning to discover the world around him. At just 7 weeks old, everything is exciting, especially toys, balls, and anything he can zoom around after before inevitably crashing out for a well earned nap. He is a busy little pup with a curious nature, always on the go and determined to be part of whatever is happening around him.
Lychee was born deaf, but he has never let that slow him down. From the very beginning, he has learned how to navigate life in his own clever way, often tugging on your pants to get your attention or checking in visually to see what is going on. He is bright, adaptable and already showing how capable he is of learning and communicating in ways that work for him.
Tamariki – Kids of any age provided proper intros and supervision.
Cats – Interested in cat but young enough to learn.
Kūri – Interested but unsure. Wil need gentle and ongoing socialisation.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 3.3kgs. Likely to mature large in size.
Ideal home:
Lychee is looking for an experienced and committed home that understands the unique journey of raising a deaf dog and is excited to help him thrive. He will need positive training, consistency and patience while learning hand signals and visual cues, just as any puppy would need guidance while growing up. Deafness does not stop dogs from learning commands, tricks or living full, happy lives, and Lychee is already proving how clever and resilient he is.
His ideal family will embrace his differences, celebrate his wins and include him fully in everyday life. In return, Lychee promises endless entertainment, affection and the kind of bond that comes from learning to communicate in your own special way together.

The adoption fee is $450, which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
