Personality:
Mandarin is a playful, busy little pup who believes absolutely everything is meant to be climbed, especially if it helps her get closer to you for cuddles and attention. Chairs, couches, laps, legs… nothing is off limits when this determined girl decides she would like to be involved. She is full of puppy energy and curiosity, always bouncing from one adventure to the next with a toy proudly carried around in her mouth.
Mandarin is fantastic at entertaining herself and can happily spend time tossing toys around, pouncing on them dramatically, or creating her own little games when nobody else is available to join in. She has a bright, cheeky nature and brings plenty of laughter wherever she goes. Despite her independent play streak, Mandarin absolutely adores human interaction and is happiest when she can combine playtime with affection. Once she has burned through some energy, she is more than happy to scramble her way into your lap for cuddles and pats.
Tamariki – Any age provided proper intros and supervision.
Cats – Confident cats.
Kūri – Friendly. Ongoing socialisation required.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 4.1kg. Likely to mature large in size.
Ideal home:
Mandarin can get a little over excited during play and is still learning appropriate puppy manners, so she may become a bit nippy when caught up in the fun. Because of this, she would really benefit from puppy school, consistent training, and clear boundaries to help guide her as she grows.
Ongoing socialisation with different people, animals, environments, and experiences will also be incredibly important to help her develop into a confident and well rounded adult dog. She is a clever girl who will thrive with patient guidance, plenty of positive reinforcement, and a home willing to embrace all the chaos and fun that comes with raising a spirited young puppy.

The adoption fee is $450, which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
