Personality:
Pear is a gentle, affectionate young lad who is only just beginning to discover how big and exciting the world can be. He has not had many opportunities to experience new people, places, and situations, so some things can still feel a little overwhelming at first. Despite this, Pear has worked incredibly hard on building his confidence and has come such a long way.
Once he gets to know you, Pear absolutely loves people and happily soaks up all the attention and affection on offer. He has a sweet, sensitive nature and forms strong bonds with those he trusts. Watching him grow in confidence and realise that new experiences can be fun is incredibly rewarding. With a little patience and encouragement, this handsome boy continues to blossom into a wonderful companion.
Tamariki – 10+ as he needs confidence building and confident handling.
Cats – Confident cats preferred.
Kūri – Friendly, ongoing socialisation needed.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 8.65kgs. Likely to mature large in size.
Ideal home:
Pear is looking for a patient and understanding home that can continue building on the fantastic progress he has already made. Experience with Rottweilers or other large breed dogs would be preferred, as he will benefit from owners who understand the needs of big, intelligent dogs.
A confident canine companion would be ideal for Pear, helping to show him that the world is a safe and enjoyable place while providing friendship and support along the way. Ongoing training, socialisation, and positive exposure to new experiences will be very important for his continued development. In return, Pear will reward his family with unwavering loyalty, plenty of affection, and the joy of watching him grow into the confident dog he is destined to become

The adoption fee is $450, which includes:
- Vet check
- First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
- Microchipping
- De-sexing
- Registration
- Bath
- Flea and worm treatment
- 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur
Things you need to know:
- All members of the family - including dogs - are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
- A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
- We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
- If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
