About Rhino

Personality:

 

Rhino is a gentle, relaxed kūri who loves attention and affection. He has a short attention span and is interested in (or distracted by) everything happening around him. He is a water baby and loves chasing the hose on a hot day. He is not really interested in toys and would prefer treats or love. Treat driven which helps with training. Only seems to know 'sit' so far. 

 

Tamariki – Any age provided proper intros and supervision.
Cats – Interested and likely to chase. No cats. 

Kūri – A bit socially awkward but generally good with dogs. 
Stock/poultry – Not tested. 
Size – Currently 26.3kgs and is fully grown. 

 

Ideal home:

 

Rhino is looking for a home that will take him along on all life's adventures. He wouldn't do well left at home for long periods of time and we highly recommend crate training so he has a safe, happy place. He is a genuine, sweet boy just looking for a little aroha and a whānau to call his own.

The adoption fee is $450, which includes:

  • Vet check
  • First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
  • Microchipping
  • De-sexing
  • Registration
  • Bath
  • Flea and worm treatment
  • 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur

Things you need to know:

  • All members of the family  - including dogs -  are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
  • A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
  • We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
  • If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
