About Takapō (ON HOLD)

Personality:

 

Takapō craves attention and has no clue what personal space is. Your lap is her favourite bed and your attention means the world to her. She will tell you when belly rubs are on the cards by rolling over to show you her belly. 

 

Tamariki – Ok with kids of all ages provided correct intros and supervision.
Cats – Uninterested in shelter cat.

Kūri – Great with other dogs. 
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 7.2kgs and is fully grown.

 

Ideal home:

 

She would love a home where companionship is a number one priority. She still needs good boundaries but left home alone for long periods would not be ideal for her. 

Winter is coming and she will be the best lap warmer for the colder months!

The adoption fee is $450, which includes:

  • Vet check
  • First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
  • Microchipping
  • De-sexing
  • Registration
  • Bath
  • Flea and worm treatment
  • 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur

Things you need to know:

  • All members of the family  - including dogs -  are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
  • A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
  • We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
  • If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
