About Virgo

  • American Pit Bull Terrier, Cross
  • Female
  • Good with children
  • 7 months
  • Can live with other dogs
  • Can live with cats
  • Pukekohe Adoption and Education Centre

Personality:

Virgo is a sweet, people orientated dog. She loves attention, particularly belly rubs. She would make a fantastic family companion and may need to have regular walks as she is still carrying a wee bit too much Christmas weight 👀

Tamariki – Good with kids provided correct intros and supervision.
Cats – Seems good with the shelter cats.

Kūri – Playful but needs further interactions to learn how to introduce herself gracefully.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 21kgs and will mature large in size.

Ideal home:

Virgo would love to have a big family with many people to love her, or a smaller household with lots of love to give. She is smart and would benefit from ongoing socialisation and training.

In accordance with the Dog Control Act 1996, Virgo will be classified as Menacing by Breed and will need to adhere to the conditions attached to this.

More than a pet, Virgo is a companion who will grow into the heart of your home. If she sounds like a good match for you, get in touch with us today!

If Virgo sounds like the perfect fit for your home, we’d love to hear from you. Just contact the Pukekohe team to arrange to meet. To apply, simply email the Pukekohe team with the dog’s name and a completed application form (PDF 855kb)

The adoption fee is $450, which includes:

  • Vet check
  • First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)

Things you need to know:

  • All members of the family  - including dogs -  are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
  • A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
  • We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
  • If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
