Atamira Dance Company presents Ka Tiri o te Moana in association with Auckland Live.
Atamira Dance Company’s Ka Tiri o te Moana is an immersive work choreographed by Arts Foundation Laureate, Louise Pōtiki Bryant in collaboration with acclaimed composer Paddy Free, scenographic artist Rowan Pierce and lighting designer Robert Larsen.
Drawing on Kāi Tahu mātauraka and powerful collaborations across dance, sound, and visual design, the work invites audiences into a mesmerising world shaped by our deep connection to the ocean and the urgent realities of climate change.
The blending of live performance and installation honours Kāi Tahu ancestor Tamarereti whose courage and curiosity continue to inspire responses to rising sea levels.
Ka Tiri o te Moana is a visually striking, emotionally resonant experience that celebrates resilience, whakapapa, and the enduring relationship between tangata and moana.
Due to popular demand, this stunning dance work will return for one performance only on Queens Wharf as part of the Moana Festival. Previous audience members called the work "… extraordinary… an unforgettable performance... beautiful and moving".
Ka Tiri o te Moana will be popular, so make sure you guarantee your place by securing your free ticket today.
