Nowruz Festival is a joint celebration where twelve ethnic communities come together to honour their shared heritage through cultural performances, traditional displays, food and drink, and children’s activities.
Nowruz (also spelled Now Ruz, pronounced [noh-rooz]) means “new day.” It marks the first day of the year and the renewal of nature, celebrated on the spring equinox, around March 21.
With a history spanning over 3,000 years, Nowruz is observed across the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. The festival celebrates renewal, peace, and unity among generations and communities.
