Come along for a high energy, music, dance and light event to celebrate NZ Music Month!
Te Ara I Whiti - The Lightpath will come alive for a joyful activation celebrating creativity, movement and community participation.
Suitable for the whole whānau and wheelchair accessible. The routine is designed to be simple and adaptable for all ability levels.
Please be aware there will be bright lights, music, crowds and other Lightpath users. Also note there is no toilet on site.
Live event | Saturday 16 May, 6pm - 8pm
- Learn easy to follow choreography guided by dancers on the night.
- Move along the path, accompanied by an electronic track co-created with local rangatahi.
- An online instructional video supports wider participation. Learn the routine.
- The event culminates in a decorated dance party at the centre of the path with a DJ.
Note: If it is raining, this event will be rescheduled to Saturday 23 May.
Self-guided option | 17 - 30 May
The experience lives on through the post-event light installation and public instructional video. Learn the routine.
The lighting programme will run for anyone who would like to dance with the lights (self-guided).
Note: If it is raining, the self-guided option will be rescheduled to 24 May - 7 June.
