The Rangitoto Swim is an open-water swimming event in Auckland that is suitable for:
- children aged 6-12 taking part in the OceanKids 100m and 200m races
- experienced and confident swimmers tackling the 4.6km swim from Rangitoto Island to St Heliers Beach
- those building up to the longer distance can do a 2.3km option.
Participants in the 4.6km event must plan ahead as they are required to take a pre-booked ferry from downtown Auckland to Rangitoto. The 2.3km and OceanKids events both start and finish at St Heliers Beach, making them very accessible for families and spectators.
There will be a lively finish area where people can either take part or come along to support and cheer on the swimmers.
Programme schedule:
- 8.20am: 4.6km swim
- 10.45am: 2.3km swim
- 11am: OceanKids races.
