Calling all rangatahi (youth 13-25).

Come and explore the world of taonga pūoro, customary Māori instruments, in a welcoming beginner-friendly wānanga environment.

Whether you have some, little, or no experience, this is a safe space to:

  • learn about these treasured instruments
  • hear their unique voices
  • connect through sound and culture.

Participants will also have the opportunity to create their own taonga to take home, so the journey can continue within your whānau and community.

Proudly hosted by members of Tāmaki Oro Rau, an Auckland-based taonga pūoro collective.

Open to all cultures and backgrounds - nau mai ako ai.

Limited spaces available!

After the workshop, we welcome you to join us for the opening of our updated music room - with performances from LEAO and Greatsouth.
