Please join us for the opening of Tatty Naff by Tutu Fingers Collective, an exhibition transforming the gallery into a 1970s-inspired whare.
Blending retro domestic aesthetics with Māori material practices, the installation centers on communal space, shared making and Matariki values.
The gallery becomes a lived-in environment, featuring textured fabrics, bamboo, warm lighting, and modular seating - alongside whatu, whakairo, kōhatu work and collective construction. Light acts as a key organising element, with each piece referencing a Matariki whetū. Together, these light sources structure the space and guide movement, reflecting the conceptual architecture and relational flow of a whare environment.
