Come along and discover New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and the rich culture of Aotearoa's Deaf community.
In this one-hour introductory session, Janey-Mei from Auckland Deaf Society will guide participants through the basics of NZSL, including fingerspelling and everyday signs, while also exploring Deaf culture, history, and communication.
Supported by a NZSL interpreter, this interactive session offers a welcoming space to learn, ask questions, and try something new.
No prior knowledge is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to learn!
Free event for adults aged 16 and above.
This event is part of Adult Learners’ Week, supported by Adult and Community Education (ACE) Aotearoa, the UNESCO New Zealand National Commission, and the Tertiary Education Commission.
