Join us at Point Chevalier Library for a kōrero with Matua Rob Small, kūmara expert and author of Te Taonga o Ngā Kūmara, Growing Point's newly launched book documenting the preservation of Aotearoa's heritage kūmara varieties.

Rob will share the story behind the kūmara collection project and the years of mahi that went into researching and creating the book itself. From tracing whakapapa stretching back more than 800 years to the process of bringing together mātauranga, growing guidance, and the stories of these taonga into 100 full colour pages, this is a chance to hear directly from the person who lived the project

This event is part of Adult Learners’ Week, supported by Adult and Community Education (ACE) Aotearoa, the UNESCO New Zealand National Commission, and the Tertiary Education Commission.
