Colin Freland, former president of the Onehunga Fencible and Historical Society, invites you to join him for an easy walk through a heritage-filled part of the neighbourhood, pointing out the shops, factories, and spaces where food was manufactured, prepared, and purchased over the decades.
Having lived in and around Onehunga for most of his life, Colin brings the past to life with personal stories. He will warmly share his own memories of the way things used to be, including what it was like cycling around the bustling streets to do the grocery shopping for his mum when he was a youngster.
