Response 93 Piringatahi Heritage Collections Up Close

This is a unique opportunity to get up close with heritage collections held at Auckland Council Libraries.

Explore an array of cookbooks dating from 1714 to the present, featuring iconic titles like Edmonds and Mrs Beeton’s alongside locally created fundraising books.

Handwritten recipe books provide a glimpse into past kitchens, while wartime resources show how rationing changed our eating habits.

You can also browse early vegetarian and nutrition books, striking Health Department posters and vintage menus from historic Tāmaki Makaurau restaurants.
