Figment Productions presents 'Songs for Nobodies', starring Jackie Clarke, directed by Jennifer Ward-Lealand and with live piano accompaniment by Penny Dodd.
This play brings together three of New Zealand’s most prominent theatrical forces to create an unforgettable production. Playing at Q Theatre from the 28th October - 1st November, this is a strictly limited run of five shows only.
Songs for Nobodies takes you behind the curtain of some of the most legendary singers of all time: Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, Edith Piaf, Billie Holiday and Maria Callas. Jackie Clarke showcases her exceptional versatility, portraying ten distinct characters and performing beloved songs including "Come Rain or Come Shine," "Crazy" and "Ain't Nobody's Business If I Do."
Written by award-winning playwright Joanna Murray-Smith, the play follows five everyday women, the kind who might consider themselves "nobodies", whose chance encounters with these legendary singers change their lives through song. This is a play of inspiration and resilience and showcases Jackie Clarke at her absolute best.
"Clarke's voice is always stunning, but I don't think I have ever seen her range or versatility displayed in quite this way before." Andrew Whiteside
