Welcoming Communities Accreditation for Ōtara-Papatoetoe
The Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board is now accredited as a Committed - Welcoming Community by Immigration New Zealand, for their work to support newcomers and to build more inclusive communities.

Applications for round one of the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board 2025/2026 grants programme is open for projects over $2,000 in arts, community, environment, events, heritage, sports or recreation. Apply by 8 August 2025.
What’s on your plate? Local Grants make it great
Over $139,000 in grants supported 41 local projects/groups in Māngere Ōtāhuhu last year, and the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board is here for those who step up for their neighbourhood.
Double the Local (Rua te rohe)
A new community-led initiative is bringing movement, music, and mana back to the heart of Ōtara, with seniors at the centre, thanks to a partnership between the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board and Total Healthcare Charitable Trust.
