KIKO
Made up of Rewi McLay (Ngāti Kahu/Ngāti Hine), Kara Gordon (Ngāi Te Rangi), Lukas Wharekura (Ngāti Kahungunu), Phillip Peters (Whānau a Apanui and Rangitane) and Windon Bradfield, KIKO represents the cream of bands such as Fly My Pretties, The Wreckage, Harvey Knows a Killer, These Automatic Changes, and Strangely Arousing. The name KIKO is short for kikorangi, the Māori word for blue, or ‘the flesh of Ranginui’ the Sky Father.
KIKO combines a multitude of genres to break down stereotypes of Māori music and present it in a new light. They are here to explore a style of music that Aotearoa has never heard before.
