'This Place Here' – Swap Gomez Project

‘This Place Here’ is a new cross-cultural musical ensemble founded by Swap Gomez (Yoko-Zuna, CHAII) in collaboration with Stephen Small (Kitaro). Filling a unique gap in Tāmaki Makaurau's rich multicultural musical landscape, this project draws on instrumentation from a variety of cultural voices in Aotearoa.

Celebrating diverse soundscapes that often go unheard in our own backyard, 'This Place Here' highlights the unsung heroes of Auckland’s vibrant music scene. To name a few, the show will feature the talents of Bangladeshi singer Leonard Shekhar Gomes with an array of instrumentalists from around the globe as well as members from Yoko-Zuna, CHAII, and Avondale Bowling Club.
