Kirsten Morrell is a celebrated New Zealand singer and songwriter, instantly recognisable as the captivating voice of the iconic indie-pop band Goldenhorse.
Goldenhorse achieved triple platinum sales in New Zealand with their debut album Riverhead and double-platinum sales with Out of The Moon. Riverhead went to number one in the album charts and spent 70 weeks in the top 40 charts in New Zealand. It sold over 50,000 copies. Out of The Moon debuted at number two and sold over 30,000 albums. And the band themselves stacked up well over 14 years of touring and promoting locally and internationally.
Kirsten cemented her solo career with her indie-pop debut album, Ultraviolet (2010), and is currently preparing to launch a follow-up release. She has performed in multiple tours and headlined Aotearoa festival concerts such as Symphony Under the Stars, Music in Parks, vineyard tours and been invited to collaborate on creative-industry commissions such as Hone Tuwhare – Poet Laureate project. As an artist, she’s a conscious eco-warrior, implementing industry-recognised standards throughout her work. Her music awards include Silver Scroll awards, Most Airplay, and BFM Fox Award.
