Sid Diamond

Sid Diamond is a pioneering voice in New Zealand hip hop - an artist whose music captures the heart of South Auckland with raw honesty, cultural pride, and lyrical precision. Formerly known as Young Sid, he first gained national recognition as a founding member of Smashproof, whose breakout hit “Brother” remains one of Aotearoa’s most powerful urban anthems. With a career spanning over a decade, Sid has carved a legacy rooted in storytelling, representing the voices of the unheard and the struggles of his community.

After stepping back from the spotlight to focus on family and personal growth, Sid returns with “EVERYTHING” — his third and final street album. Bridging the themes of his past projects The Truth and What Doesn’t Kill Me, this album is a reflection of his evolution as a father, son, and survivor of the environment that raised him. Fusing soulful production with street poetry and cultural depth, Sid speaks to generational trauma, fatherhood, love, and the shifting identity of modern Polynesian men.
