Rei is the next generation of Aotearoa / New Zealand bilingual artists fusing international sounds. He’s setting his sights firmly on taking our unique culture to the world – and making some bangers on the way!
From Wellington, Rei (Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Pākeha) is currently based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland where he makes music that seamlessly bridges genres, in particular urban and electronic.
A producer of his own music, Rei released in multiple genres in 2021 while working alongside award-winning engineer Chris Chetland of Kog Studio. With over nine million Spotify streams, six Waiata Māori Awards and four NZ Music Awards nominations, Rei is carving out his space and is always innovating to make new, inspiring, fun AF sounds.
