Franklin Local Board worked with the Franklin Youth Advisory Board on the Pukekohe Skate Park project.

Plans for the Pukekohe Skate Park in Stadium Drive are almost finalised thanks to advocacy from the Franklin Youth Advisory Board and Franklin Local Board.

Franklin Local Board member Alan Cole says the board has worked closely with the Franklin Youth Advisory Board to progress the project.

“The youth group undertook initial engagement with young people on the park’s design and continue to be involved in the project,” he says.

Franklin Youth Advisory Board Chair Marek Townley says, “We had a vision to develop a skate park by young people, for young people. We’re really pleased to have Franklin Local Board’s support for this project.”

The board has also allocated $65,000 to upgrade the Clevedon scooter park, and has requested further information on upgrades or developments needed at Waiuku and Clarks Beach skate parks.
