Beautiful walks in Hibiscus and Bays

Beautiful walks in Upper Harbour
The Mairangi Bay to Murrays Bay walkway.

There are many lovely walks in the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board area. Here are a few of our favourite shorter walks.

Mairangi Bay to Murrays Bay walkway

Head to the beach at Mairangi Bay and up to the rock walkway at the northern end, then follow the flat path on top of the wastewater line to Murrays Bay.

Alice Eaves Scenic Reserve bushwalk

Enjoy a walk through kauri and broadleaf forest. Located off Ōrewa’s Old North Road, the lower track beside Nukumea Stream is wheelchair friendly.

Long Bay Regional Park walks

The Nature Trail starts below Vaughan Homestead and heads away from the beach through wetland with pūriri and pōhutukawa. For coastal views, choose the 100 Acre Track.

Shakespear Regional Park’s lookout walk

From the lookout, enjoy spectacular views of the city skyline, Hauraki Gulf islands, and Wenderholm and Mahurangi regional parks.

There are even more walks on Auckland Transport's website.
