The Henderson-Massey Local Board has funded the construction of a futsal court at the Massey Leisure Centre.
Where: Westgate Drive (in front of the Massey Library/YMCA)
When: Open every day. There is no need to book; it's first come, first served - just turn up and play!
Futsal is a game very similar to soccer. It comes from Brazil and is a faster game with five on a side. Players get the ball eight times more in futsal than in soccer.
Board chair Vanessa Neeson and other board members recently opened the court at a community event. The Auckland Futsal Association attended and provided a demonstration, with board members joining in.
