In August, OurAuckland met some of the people who work 'behind the scenes' to make Tāmaki Makaurau a great place to live.
With a population of over 1.6 million people, we all want to move freely, work productively, play happily and live safely. We venture from wastewater treatment plants and the Auckland Zoo to the Emergency Operations Call Centre and the Auckland Central Library. We also take a look at some of the interesting lives lived by Auckland Council staff.

The August issue of OurAuckland was out from 3 August in letterboxes, cafes, transport hubs, libraries, council service centres, and local board offices.
Throughout the month, we met the staff working at Auckland Council, Auckland Transport, Auckland Zoo, and other council-run facilities, to explore a day in the life of the city, go underground to check out the City Rail Link, finding out what goes into the campaign for voter turnout, and much more.
There are 14 versions of the A4 magazine – providing news and events for the 13 Auckland Council wards and one version for areas spanning ward boundaries.
A large-print version is available at Auckland Libraries for people with sight impairments or those who prefer the larger format.
