Mount Albert Library has 15 new CCTV cameras in action.

The new cameras are part of a safety upgrade to the library. The new CCTV system replaces the previous seven-camera setup, and is also cloud-based, giving council teams the option to view the site remotely, for security purposes.

Albert-Eden Local Board Chair Kendyl Smith welcomes the addition of the new technology.

“Safety of our library users and staff is paramount, and with the new upgraded CCTV cameras now completed, we can ensure the area is a more welcoming and safer location for all library users.”

The new cameras will also provide staff working at night better visibility of the carpark areas prior to going outside, as well as views of entranceways and with the library.
