Glen Innes library users will have a new location for the majority of 2025, with the Glen Innes Community Hall being used from February to December this year while upgrade work is carried out.

The Glen Innes Library requires a number of improvements – as well as a new roof – and during this time the community hall will be the new home for all library services.

As part of the project, there will be no library services for two weeks from late January.

Maungakiekie-Tāmaki chair Maria Meredith says it’s important to get these key upgrades underway.

“Our well-used Glen Innes Library needs a bit of aroha so it’s fit for the future, and although it will be out of service for most of 2025, we’ll be using the nearby community hall which will have our full library services available,” says Maria.
“We understand this could be an inconvenience for some users, however our community hall will have lots of space and is also very close to the library, so we’re working towards a seamless transition during the upgrades.”
