Community organisations across the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board area are being offered a valuable opportunity to strengthen their governance and operational capability, completely free of charge.
Thanks to a partnership between the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board, and Auckland North Community and Development (ANCAD), not-for-profit and grassroots community groups can access tailored training and support to help their organisations thrive.
ANCAD’s Chief Executive Officer Fiona Brennan says community organisations that take part will gain practical tools to strengthen their operations and leadership.
“This training gives groups the tools to run more confidently and effectively. We are supporting them to clarify their roles, improve strategic decision-making, manage risk and set up strong foundations that support long-term impact and sustainability.”
The support on offer includes practical help with:
- Improving board effectiveness and clarity of roles
- Strengthening policies, procedures, and risk management
- Navigating compliance, financial accountability, and reporting
- Building systems that support growth and sustainability.
Community Broker for Hibiscus and Bays Marilyn Kelly says strong governance and good systems are key to helping groups continue their important work in the community.
“When community groups are well-governed and well-equipped, they’re more effective, more resilient, and better able to meet the needs of the people they serve. This initiative helps ensure their mahi can continue well into the future.”
Organisations that take part will benefit from greater clarity, confidence, and capacity which helps them to better support their communities, attract funding, and manage change.
Spaces are limited, and interested groups are encouraged to register early.
