Sunday 30 November

6-9pm

Stockade Hill, Howick (Ridge Road)

The date’s had a little festive shuffle, all to give us the best shot at great weather and even better memories.

As the festive season gets ready to return, Stockade Hill turns into a Christmas hotspot. The celebration is now set for the end of November instead of mid-month.

For years, the lighting of the tree has marked the moment the neighbourhood collectively steps into the festive season. It’s not just an event for the people of East Auckland, it’s built by the people: schools, groups, families, and neighbours.

Board chair Damian Light shares, “This is a free event for the community, put on by the very people who live and call this area home. The lighting of the tree is special to this community, and they really turn out for it. It signals the start of the festive season in Howick, so come be a part of the celebration!”

Perched above Howick Village, Stockade Hill has long been where the community comes together, from ANZAC Day to gatherings, and now, it once again sets the stage for one of our most joyous nights.

Local schools and community groups will take the stage and bring the festive vibes, with full sound, stage, and greenroom all sorted.

Santa and his helpers are gearing up to make this year extra special, especially after last year’s event was called off due to bad weather. All welcome, don’t forget your chairs, mats, something warm, and Santa hats

Alongside a delightful array of local talent, food trucks will keep everyone fuelled - from hotdogs to chips, hamburgers, coffee and more.
