The garden of Albert-Eden: new festival celebrates all things green
I beg your garden? That’s right! A brand-new festival is coming to Western Springs – thanks to the Albert-Eden Local Board.
The inaugural Albert-Eden Garden Festival will take place on Saturday 15 November at the Western Springs Community Hall, showcasing the area as a hub of creativity, green living and neighbourhood connection.
With Auckland changing due to intensification, and more apartment and townhouses than ever before, there are still ways to incorporate gardens and greenery into living households.
The one-day event will celebrate gardening, sustainability, and local community pride, with a number of activations, workshops, markets and delicious kai to keep everyone entertained.
Garden Stories: get your green fingers on
One of the many highlights of the event is the community crafted balcony display gardens. These garden activations demonstrate how to maximise small spaces to get the most out of your garden, and what tips and tricks you can apply at home.
As well as learning from the experts, you’ll also visually see how gardens can be transformed, with a number of displays.

There’s no shortage of things to check out at the Garden Festival, including workshops, markets, food trucks, live entertainment, community stalls, kids activities and more.
