The Henderson Christmas Festival is set to bring festive cheer to local families on Sunday 23 November—this time in a new location at Corban Estate Arts Centre.
Proudly funded by Henderson-Massey Local Board, the annual celebration will once again feature a full afternoon of performances, entertainment, and delicious food for the whole whānau to enjoy.
Local Board chair Chris Carter says he’s pleased to see the event return to the community calendar at the Corban Estate Arts Centre.
“It’s great to see our favourite local Christmas event take place at Corban Estate Arts Centre as its usual home Catherine Plaza undergoes a well-deserved upgrade,” he says.
“The festival is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate our community spirit. We’re excited to see people enjoying themselves while supporting our talented local makers and performers.”
Festivalgoers can look forward to a lively programme of music and activities throughout the afternoon.
Santa will be performing festive tunes on his ukulele, while West City Music’s 20-piece string ensemble and the Waitākere Brass Band will fill the air with classical and big band favourites.
Adding to the fun, Captain Festus McBoyle’s Travellin’ Variety Show will entertain audiences of all ages with pirate-themed antics and songs. There will be plenty of other entertainment for tamariki, with face painting, circus workshops, crafts, and roaming elves spreading Christmas joy around the grounds.
No celebration would be complete without great food, and this year’s festival will offer a delicious range of choices—from tropical treats and gourmet burgers to Mexican, Indian and Chinese dishes, along with coffee, slushies, and candyfloss.
With a new setting, lively performances, and plenty of festive flavour, the Henderson Christmas Festival at Corban Estate Arts Centre promises to be a magical day out for the whole community.
