Mount Albert’s iconic Rocket Park will host the inaugural Albert-Eden Local Board Art Blast event on February 28.
The new, one-day, free community-focused arts event, will combine local artists, performers, and residents to enjoy live art experiences, performances and much more.
Albert-Eden Local Board Chair Margi Watson says the event will be a real blast.
“It’s great to be able to celebrate art in Albert-Eden, we’re blessed to be home to a number of talented artists, and we can showcase their creativity at Art Blast.
“There’s also live art battles to check out, as well as sculpting and lots more. Rocket Park will be a hub of energy and arts – see it for yourself on February 28.”
Some of the other highlights from Art Blast include artist-led activations and workshops, poetry reading, short plays, performance art, live sculpting, interactive installations, live music and lots more.
They’ll also be a smorgasbord of delicious food trucks to enjoy kai from. You can also support local artists by purchase unique art.
Game on: witness a live art battle
One of the drawcards of Art Blast is experiencing (and competing in if you’re keen) a live art battle. This visual experience includes artists going up against each other in a competition, with a timer and loud tunes bringing epic vibes.
