Te Puke ō Tara Community Centre

About Te Puke ō Tara Community Centre

From the determination and passion of Ōtara’s youth in the early 70s, looking for a place for the community to safely come together, Te Puke ō Tara Community Centre was established.Te Puke ō Tara was first opened in 1976 but its recent refurbishment has made it a more modern and multi-functional venue for any occasion. In July 2018, the centre reopened its doors as a larger, brighter and more flexible community place. The centre maintains the same vision and commitment to providing a safe, inclusive and accessible environment for the people Ōtara and Papatoetoe.

Conveniently located adjacent to the Ōtara Pool and Leisure Centre and walking distance to the Ōtara Library, Fresh Gallery and Ōtara Music and Arts Centre (ŌMAC) in the Ōtara Town Centre, Te Puke ō Tara Community Centre offers an exciting programme of activities for all ages that reflects a diverse and vibrant local Maori and Pasifika community.

Activities are on offer throughout the year where young people and their families can participate in popular sports, cultural and social events. The team welcome you wholeheartedly. Nau mai, Haere mai, Afio mai, Kia Orana!
