Here you will find information about language, legal, and settlement support services available in Auckland. Whether you're navigating immigration processes, understanding your legal rights, or settling into a new community, services like the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) can help and Migrant Connect supports them with assistance in multiple languages. You’ll also find information on legal advice, budgeting services, and help in difficult times.
CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau), CAB for Youth and Migrant Connect offer information on all kinds of services and help you understand your rights.
Zero Data gives you access to government services and others from your mobile without having to pay for data.
Migrant Settlement Support services can advise you and help you access the government services and other support that you need.
Community law centres offer easy-to-read information, community workshops, and confidential one-on-one legal help free for those eligible. They cover a range of issues including family law, immigration, employment, minor criminal, tenancy and consumer matters. Community Law Centres are located in the CBD, Mangere, Ōtara and Henderson.
Rainbow Communities support and advocacy
Rainbow organisations offer support and information to LGBTI+, takatāpui, MVPFAFF+ and other rainbow people across Aotearoa. Some such as Rainbow Path NZ and Chinese Pride have activities to support new migrants.
Community-based budgeting services offer free confidential one-on-one budgeting advice and advocacy services to help people manage and keep control of their financial situation.

Help in difficult times
Work and Income - Te Ira Tangata (government agency) can help you to manage difficulties, for example:
- if you have urgent or unexpected costs that you cannot cover
- if you’ve lost your job or aren’t able to work
- if you need help with living expenses.
Some organisations in your area can help with emergency food parcels. Ask your local CAB where they are located or visit the CAB’s Community Directory or NZ Foodbank directory.
