About Piplup

  • Shar Pei, Cross
  • Female
  • Good with children
  • 6 months
  • Pukekohe Adoption and Education Centre

Personality:

Piplup is a happy, bouncy and loveable Shar Pei cross who is ready to find a home of her own. Full of personality, she adores human attention and will happily soak up all the pats and cuddles you’re willing to give. With her sweet nature and playful spirit, Piplup is the kind of dog who will brighten your day and quickly become a much loved part of the family.

Tamariki – 5+ while she builds confidence.
Cats – Sniffed cat then walked away. Should be ok with proper intros and training.

Kūri – Hesitant/shy to meet, needs ongoing socialisation.
Stock/poultry – Untested.
Size – Currently 16.6kgs. Likely to mature large in size.

Ideal home:

Piplup would do best in a dog savvy home that understands the importance of ongoing training, socialisation and confidence building. She is still learning about the world and will benefit from patient guidance, clear boundaries and positive reinforcement to help her continue growing into a well rounded dog.

A home that can provide structure, encouragement and opportunities to experience new people, places and situations will help build her confidence. In return, Piplup will bring plenty of love, playful energy and cuddle time to the lucky family who welcomes her home.

Piplup is ready to bring the love, the zoomies and a whole lot of squishy cuddles to her forever home.

Ready to meet or adopt?

If Piplup sounds like the perfect fit for your home, we’d love to hear from you. Just contact the Pukekohe team to arrange to meet. To apply, simply email the Pukekohe team with the dog’s name and a completed application form (PDF 855kb)

The adoption fee is $450, which includes:

  • Vet check
  • First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)

Things you need to know:

  • All members of the family  - including dogs -  are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
  • A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
  • We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
  • If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
