About Taupō

Personality:

 

Taupō is a big, loveable, playful goober. He loves soft toys and will carry them everywhere, including on a walk if you let him. He has recently had surgery for entropian eyes so is currently rocking some sutures but don't let this put you off, his eyes are looking great now.

 

Tamariki – 5+ and dog savvy as he does need consistency.
Cats – Not yet tested.

Kūri – Initially a bit cautions when meeting but settles well, proper intros are required. 
Stock/poultry – Not tested.
Size – Currently 26.5kgs and is fully grown.

 

Ideal home:

 

We believe he does have some separation anxiety so an experienced home that understands clear boundaries and consistency are important. In turn you will be rewarded with a fun loving companion who worships you.

The adoption fee is $450, which includes:

  • Vet check
  • First vaccination (including Lepto and Kennel Cough)
  • Microchipping
  • De-sexing
  • Registration
  • Bath
  • Flea and worm treatment
  • 1-month free accident cover from Pet-n-Sur

Things you need to know:

  • All members of the family  - including dogs -  are required to come to a meet & greet appointment if selected in the adoption process. This includes out of Aucklanders.
  • A fully fenced section or outside containment will be needed to pass a property inspection.
  • We aim to find the best home for each dog, so adopting a dog is not on a first-in-first-served basis.
  • If you are unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 6 months or may suggest another dog that is suited to your application.
